A shocking incident in the Morwadi area of Pimpri-Chinchwad has sparked concern after a minor dispute inside a residential building allegedly escalated into a knife attack.
A woman and a minor boy have been accused of attacking a couple with a sharp weapon following an argument over spitting on a shoe rack in a lift.
According to police, the incident occurred on Wednesday night when the complainant and her husband were travelling down in a lift.
During the ride, they noticed that someone had spat on a shoe rack placed inside the lift. While the couple was discussing the incident, a minor boy present at the spot allegedly became agitated and began verbally abusing them.
Police said the boy allegedly threatened to kill the couple. The argument soon turned violent when the minor, along with a woman accompanying him, allegedly attacked the husband and wife with a sharp knife.
Both victims sustained serious injuries in the assault and were rushed to a hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. The sudden and violent nature of the attack has created fear among residents in the locality.
Upon receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the scene and initiated an investigation. Legal action is being taken against those involved, and further inquiries are underway.

In a counter-development, the arrested woman's husband has filed a complaint against the victim's family. He alleged that they had been mentally harassing his family for several days and further claimed that they forcibly entered his residence and assaulted his 17-year-old son.
Police at Sant Tukaram Nagar Police Station are investigating both the original complaint and the counter-complaint to ascertain the sequence of events and determine responsibility.
