The OGL 1.2 (Draft) is still de-authorizing the OGL 1.0a and gives no mechanism for anyone who used other people's OGC under the license to keep their work in print.
WotC is lying to you.

The single most destructive act by Hasbro in the OGL controversy has been their legally dubious assertion that they can invent a right to "de-authorize" the license not enumerated in the license.
They do not appear to be backing down on this.

ALT And, sadly, it seems that this may be the death of the Open Gaming License. Regardless of what happens next, the mere existence of this document is proof positive that WotC is no longer a trustworthy steward of Open Gaming, and the OGL is no longer a reliable tool for permissive licensing.

My three year old nephew Jax is obsessed with Among Us so he got a red Among Us plushie for Christmas. The next day Bear chewed it up while no one was looking. When Jax found it he freaked out and yelled "why, why would he do this?" I told him red was sus. It didn't help.

What Elon is doing is a revolt by entrepreneurial capital against the professional-managerial class regime that otherwise everywhere dominates (including and especially large tech companies), and that same PMC (which includes the media) is treating it as an act of lèse-majesté.

While I'm happy this is happening, its very existence undermines medicine itself.
We have people questioning the utility of vaccines. And like, "Medicine can't even get pulse oximeters correctly calibrated, how can we trust them to get a vaccine right?"

2 yrs ago, I posted a TikTok video about Pulse Oximeters. For decades, they haven't worked as well on darker skin tones. My video received over 200K views and started my "Racial Bias in Medicine" series.
Today a FDA advisory committee is finally convening to address the problem!

Vaccines clearly work. I know people in the field. I trust the rigor of these vaccine studies.
But I also understand people who don't trust them. They look at medicine failing to solve these simple things and that cascades into mistrust about the big things.
