The U.S. is almost matching China in battery investment!
Global battery investment quadrupled since 2022 and will exceed $100 billion in 2026! Battery investment grew 30% in 2025, compared to 2024. Falling costs led to 40% rise in battery deployment to 108 GW in 2025. Batteries firm solar and wind. iea.blob.core.windows.net/as…

JUST DROPPED: For years I thought industrial electrification potential was limited. How wrong I was. Engineering studies point to 90% . Global scenarios support this. Technology is much further ahead than we think. Question is whether policy keeps up. janrosenow.substack.com/p/in…

CHART OF THE DAY: Electric car sales grew by 20% globally to exceed 20 million in 2025, meaning 1/4 of all new cars sold were electric, according to @IEA new report. Note, however, that a growing share of those electric cars include a gasoline engine (PHEV and EREV).

By 2035, electric cars could account for about half of global car sales, even without any new policy announcements This would mean as many as 510 million EVs on the road (excluding 2- & 3-wheelers) – up from nearly 80 million today New @IEA EV Outlook ➡️ iea.li/434ZhUp

For years, the biggest criticism of renewables was simple: “What happens when the sun isn’t shining?” The answer is increasingly: battery storage. 24/7 solar power is no longer theoretical. In some places, it is becoming economic reality.

Everyone who cares about climate should understand this. Texas, with no pro-climate policies, has blown passed California in clean energy. In large part because Texas has less red tape and makes it easier to build.
Texas just passed California in utility-scale solar. And it's not close in wind or energy storage.

In 2024, more than 60% of new cars sold in Ethiopia were fully electric. That’s not a typo. Ethiopia is one of the world’s least motorised countries. It now ranks alongside global EV leaders by share of new car sales. Ahead of most of Europe.

Electric vehicles are an extremely powerful tool for reducing oil demand. This is so obvious when you use the same units. There is a ton of chemical energy in the oil we burn to move cars, but you only need a small fraction in electrical energy for EVs to do the same job.
Clean power is enabling fossil-free growth beyond the power sector, as seen with transport. In 2025, EV sales surpassed A QUARTER of the global car market 🚗⚡ The global EV fleet is already displacing 1.8 million barrels of oil demand per day 🛢️ ember-energy.org/latest-insi…

EVs are just going to win. Period.
You can now drive an EV from London to Barcelona on a single charge. Think about that: CATL just unveiled a battery with a 1,500km range that charges in 6 minutes That's: >Faster than a coffee break >Longer than almost any petrol tank >The final nail in the "range anxiety" coffin The fossil fuel dinosaurs and their media puppets are still out there peddling the lie that EVs aren't ready for prime time. They are lying to you to protect their dying profits. The technology is here. The economics are settled. The electrification of everything is accelerating ft.com/content/1773de37-2595…
