Yesterday was a special day for Team #GenesisBoC. Jason and Janis travelled to @BrockUniversity in Niagara, Ontario to guest lecture for a second-year Game Design class. Jason shared his journey from learning Magic: The Gathering, to working as a judge at major competitive events across North America, to opening a local game store with Janis — and ultimately how all of that led to them founding Edge Of Exile Entertainment and acquiring Genesis: Battle of Champions in 2023. We discussed game design, inclusivity, representation in gaming, and the things that we are doing with Genesis: Battle of Champions to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to play our game and have fun. The class was scheduled for two hours… but the questions kept coming. The professor joked it had been a long time since he had to stop his students from asking more questions due to the class running out of time. Every student received some complimentary Genesis booster boxes, and we have offered to support the creation of a Genesis club on campus if the students at Brock decide to start one.
