Ah yes, the "crass or thoughtless" exception to the First Amendment

Former VP @Mike_Pence: "The First Amendment though does not protect entertainers who say crass or thoughtless things as Jimmy Kimmel did in the wake of a national tragedy...I would have preferred that the chairman of the FCC had not weighed in."

Prediction: U.S. dollar stablecoins with yield will drain bank accounts in every country with an inferior currency - which is pretty much all countries. These countries will react with crypto capital controls - they'll pass laws or regulate. We're already seeing it. In the UK the Bank of England is trying to prevent citizens from holding more than £10,000 per person in stablecoins - you'll start seeing crypto capital controls like these (and worse) in many countries over the next 6-12 months as authorities react. These capital controls will then push more people into DeFi and crypto. Freedom has no borders on the internet.

This is indeed devastating: an extremely detailed investigative journalism piece by mainstream Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant looked in minute details into 114 cases of young Palestinian children with single gunshot wounds to the head or chest. Their conclusion? That the overwhelming evidence points to deliberate, targeted shooting of children, primarily by snipers. Link to the article: volkskrant.nl/kijkverder/v/2…

Not sustainable.
Shocking stat of the day: The bottom 50% of US households now hold just 2.5% of total US wealth. History says rate cuts with stocks at record highs will lead to even more record highs 12 months from now. Asset owners will party and the wealth gap will widen. Especially as Core CPI inflation is back above 3%.

Mark my words, this week marks peak bubble. Oracle just went up $300B on what appears to be a non-binding deal with OpenAI. •OpenAI doesn’t have $300 billion dollars •They don’t have anywhere near $300 billion dollars •By their own (presumably optimistic) projection, they won’t turn a profit until 2030. •And all this from a company thought (or claimed) that GPT-5 was going to be tantamount to AGI (spoiler alert: it wasn’t) •For good measure Oracle doesn’t have the chips they would need to fulfill the contracts, or even the cash to buy them. I will be astounded if Oracle meets their projections. Further discussion at the link below.

AI circle of money :: 1. $NVDA sells GPUs to $ORCL .. Oracle uses to power its data centers 2. Oracle builds cloud on those GPUs 3. Nvidia rents compute back via signed deals from Oracle Nvidia gets recurring revenue from hardware sales and cloud services without owning all the data centers. Oracle turns capex (buying GPUs) into opex revenue by renting compute to Nvidia, OpenAI, and others.

Phenomenal idea.
This is a multi-billion dollar business Dusty robotics just invented a new tool that every single construction company will end up buying Just like a Roomba, it drives around, but it’s not cleaning, instead it’s printing the floor plan on to the slab. So simple, so powerful
