Unions are fine. I was in one as a resident, & was PD for unionized residents at 2 teaching hospitals
But a strike would hurt everyone: patients, residents & hospitals
@maryhawn is probably right (as usual) - our system for preparing physicians for practice by bartering (patient care service) for (training salary) may be due for an overhaul.
In the meantime, we shouldn’t respond to any of this with acrimony or by denigrating anyone’s valid complaints. None of us created this system, but we do have the opportunity to improve it.
