Is it over for OpenClaw?
After seeing a couple negative OpenClaw posts over the last few days, I decided to dig into the data and built a sentiment tracker
According to the data, sentiment has been pretty steady the last 3 weeks, so no, it's not over
The sentiment tracker link is in the replies and data/methodology below:
Data Sources:
-X & Reddit (using @MacrocosmosAI) - scraped 10k raw social media posts mentioning OpenClaw, de-duped and filtered down to ~1k unique posts
-Grok daily analysis using daily aggregated sentiment from a structured LLM prompt that scores individual posts on a scale with engagement weighting, topic tagging, and confidence assessment
-Google Trends looking at daily search interest scores (0-100) for "OpenClaw" as an attention/volume signal
Sentiment Scoring:
1. VADER - rule-based lexicon analysis applied to each unique scraped post with compound score (-1 to 1) classified as positive (≥0.05), negative (≤-0.05), neutral, or mixed (both pos and neg sub-scores >0.1)
2. Grok - LLM-assessed daily sentiment using a strict rubric that produces an engagement-weighted mean per day on a -2 to 2 scale. More conservative and context-aware than VADER
3. Composite Score - using a daily blended metric normalizing both sources to -1 to 1, then weighting 60% Grok 40% VADER (Grok gets higher weight due to its more rigorous methodology)
