I do not know why, but whenever I have a 1 on 1 mentorship session, I always leave smiling.
Maybe it's because I genuinely enjoy watching people move from that confusion stage to clarity in real time.
Recently, during a session, I introduced Google Apps Script, internal systems, data ecosystems, web apps, and operational workflows. The funny part is that most people enter the conversation thinking they are just learning automation for spreadsheets.
But by the end of the session, their entire perspective shifts.
And honestly, you are lucky if you have a mentor who does not just teach tools, but teaches you how to think.
Because in this field of AppsScript, many people quietly give up early or stay at the surfacelevel, because GAS confusion stage is so intense.
It's like you’re lost, no direction, no deep information, you are alone, jumping left and right .
There are moments where nothing will make sense. What's the job prospects and all and
one day your code will breaks for no reason and you will not know why.
At a certain point, you'll start questioning whether you are even learning correctly.
Trust me, I know that feeling very well.
Every feeling one get when you are in a field with very thin information, everything feels outdated but it's not.
I know how it feels and I scaled through it all.
Nevertheless, one day, I will give the full gist of my journey with Google Apps Script. Seeing me carry it on my head today makes it look smooth, but it was not always like this.
There was a time I almost gave up completely.
Back to the main focus:
The same confusion many people have now, I had it too. The only difference was that once I truly become interested in something, I rarely accept defeat easily. I keep digging until things start connecting .
That is also why I take mentorship and consulting very serious.
Sometimes people don’t just need information.
They need reassurance from someone who has already walked through that tunnel of confusion.
And there is something deeply fulfilling about helping people see possibilities they could not see before.
In all It’s just so fulfilling.
PS: Working on a new article for my blog tomorrow.
