NASA has confirmed that Artemis III will no longer land astronauts on the Moon. This is a historic moment for space exploration and for the entire international community that follows the advances towards a sustainable human presence on the Moon. I would like to extend my special congratulations to astronaut Luca Parmitano (ESA) on his selection to join this extraordinary team. His professional trajectory, experience in long-duration missions, and international space contributions make him a reference for researchers, students, and aerospace enthusiasts worldwide. I am pleased to recall my meeting with Luca Parmitano in August 2023, during the launch of the Crew-7 mission at the Kennedy Space Center. On that occasion, he participated in a press conference aimed at journalists and experts, sharing reflections on the operational, technological, and human challenges of space missions. His ability to communicate complex topics clearly and inspiringly demonstrated not only his technical competence but also his commitment to space outreach and education.
