Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has noticed complaints from consumers regarding unauthorized activation of Value Added Services (VAS), resulting in unexpected balance deductions. Consumers are advised to remain cautious and regularly check their mobile balance and active subscriptions. VAS typically include services such as caller tunes (ring back tones), daily SMS or internet bundles, missed call alerts, mobile games, horoscope updates, quiz services, infotainment alerts, and other subscription-based content services. Please note that no VAS can be activated without your clear consent. Activation requires confirmation through a One-Time Password (OTP) and/or dialing of a specific USS code. If you have not shared an OTP or dialed any code, the service should not be active. Any such activation may be unauthorized. In case you observe unexplained deductions, immediately contact your respective telecom operator, register a complaint, and obtain a complaint reference number.
