More receiving highlights for your viewing pleasure. One of the best parts about breaking down video of someone you know is that you don’t have to guess what they were thinking. The cues Max is working through here are simple: Late and fast. Wait, wait, wait… go. Move it fast. Stop it fast. The exact self-talk changes depending on what he feels in that moment, but the goal stays the same: Stay patient, trust the read, then win the pitch with conviction. #Catching #CatcherTraining #Receiving #PitchFraming #BaseballDevelopment #CatchingDevelopment #BaseballTraining #Catcher #Catchers #MoveAnalytics #BaseballIQ #PlayerDevelopment #Framing #GloveWork #CatchersMatter

There’s a difference between being a good player… and being a recruitable player. Parents, your son may be a good baseball player. He may start on his team. He may get hits. He may work hard. He may love the game. But being “good” is not always the same as being recruitable. A recruitable player needs more than talent. He needs: Speed. Strength. Hitting ability. Throwing ability. Defensive tools. Grades. Mindset. Character. Exposure. A real development plan. That’s why guessing is dangerous. Your son may be closer than you think, or he may have some gaps that need to be addressed now. Either way, he needs to know where he stands. Parents, DM me D1 and I’ll send you the FREE Are You Really D-1 Quick Evaluation. Players, have your parent or guardian DM me D1 Parent. Let’s find out if he is just a good player… or if he is building toward becoming a recruitable player. The ability to utilize both natural grass field and artificial turf fields for practice and games, has been a vital asset that we are grateful for, getting extensive reps on both surfaces is invaluable experience for MPG athletes. #PostGrad #PGBaseball #MPGBaseball #Development #BaseballDevelopment #GapYear #Uncommitted

For 9 months of the year, this is where our athletes call home. Just blocks and a minutes walk from our training facility. It’s quite an upgrade from standard dorm room living, but the college feel and self-responsibility remain. #PostGrad #PGBaseball #MPGBaseball #Development #BaseballDevelopment #GapYear #Uncommitted

⚠️ College baseball just told you the truth. The average fastball velocity in the 2026 NCAA Regionals field is now 90.8 MPH. Wake Forest leads the field at 94.4 MPH. If you’re still sitting 82-87 and hoping recruiters will overlook velocity, you’re betting against the data. Velocity isn’t everything… But velocity gets you noticed. The difference today isn’t genetics. It’s training. The pitchers making jumps are developing: ✅ Elite biomechanics ✅ Ground force production ✅ Rotational power ✅ Arm speed efficiency ✅ Recovery and durability That’s exactly why we built the 3X Velocity Camp. Over the last 18 years, Top Velocity has helped thousands of athletes add velocity through a science-based system combining biomechanics, Olympic lifting, mobility, power development, and AI performance analysis. The program has helped develop 100 MLB Draft Picks and athletes who have reached 90, 95, and even 100 MPH. The question isn’t whether velocity matters anymore. The question is: How much longer are you willing to stay where you are? 🚨 Limited spots available for upcoming 3X Velocity Camps in Louisiana. ⚾ Get evaluated. ⚾ Get a roadmap. ⚾ Start building a college/pro-level velocity profile. 🔗 topvelocity.org/3x-velocity-… Comment “VELO” and we’ll send you the details. #TopVelocity #3XVelocity #PitchingVelocity #BaseballTraining #BaseballDevelopment #CollegeBaseball #NCAABaseball #PitchingCoach

One of the greatest hitting coaches ever, Merv Rettenmund, had a way of making hitters feel better while absolutely destroying them at the same time. Jeff Gardner tells this story and it’ll have you on the floor laughing. Back in the Jack Murphy Stadium days, Gardy was in a brutal slump. So he heads down into the dungeon underneath the stadium where the cages were, looking for answers from the legendary Merv, who’s down there flipping soft toss before BP like some baseball wizard hidden under the stadium. Gardy walks in frustrated and says: “Merf… I need something. What do I do to get outta this slump?” Now Merv pauses for a few seconds… staring… thinking… like he’s about to unlock the secrets of hitting. Then he calmly says: “You know Gardy… maybe you’re hot right now. Maybe this is as good as you’re ever gonna be… and we should be celebrating.” Gardy said he completely lost it laughing. And honestly, every hitter who’s ever played knows that exact feeling — when you’re so bad you don’t need mechanics, you just need somebody to make you laugh and pull you outta your own head. Sure enough… Gardy relaxed, went out that night, and got a few knocks. But here’s the REAL point of the story. Merv had BEEN there. Over and over during his own professional career. He knew exactly what Gardy was feeling because he had lived it himself. That’s the value of baseball people who actually played, failed, adjusted, survived slumps, and figured it out at the professional level. When organizations clean out their systems of people who’ve gone through those same experiences, they lose one of the most valuable commodities in the game — real baseball wisdom and the ability to relate to players when things get ugly mentally. The Tigers are part of this mess… and the ugly colors are starting to show. #MLB #Baseball #DetroitTigers #Tigers #Hitting #HittingCoach #BaseballLife #MLBTwitter #BaseballTwitter #PlayerDevelopment #BaseballIQ #Swing #MLBNews #BaseballCoaches #TeachTheGame #OldSchoolBaseball #JackMurphyStadium #BaseballStories #MentalGame #BaseballCulture #TigersTwitter #DetroitBaseball #MLBNetwork #BaseballFans #SportsTalk #BaseballMindset #BaseballDevelopment #TheShow #MLBDiscussion #BaseballPeople

Your son's swing has 5 hidden flaws. His phone can see them. His coach probably can't. ⚾ I spent 20 years and a PhD trying to understand why most hitters never break 90 mph exit velo — and the answer isn't in the hands. It's in 5 specific biomechanical markers that almost no youth coach is trained to spot: 🔴 Lead leg collapse at contact → leaks 38% of bat speed 🔴 No hip-shoulder separation → no rubber band, no power 🔴 Wrong attack angle (under 5° or over 20°) → MLB calls it "dead contact" 🔴 Weight trapped on the back leg → ball won't travel 🔴 Hands firing before hips → broken kinetic chain These aren't opinions. They're peer-reviewed: → Orishimo et al. (Sports Biomechanics, 2024) → MLB Statcast bat tracking (2025 release) → Putnam (1993) — proximal-to-distal sequencing → Schneider, Aguinaldo & Takata (2023) The same data that MLB orgs pay $40,000 in lab equipment to measure? We built it into a free browser tool that grades all 5 in 60 seconds. No account. No credit card. Video never leaves your phone. 👇 Comment SWING and I'll DM you the link. 2027 Uncommitted RHP/OF Azariah Tucker (@azariahtucker6) from Hannibal, MO just delivered the best outing of his season when it mattered most. Complete Game Shutout in his first playoff start: • 7.0 IP • 2 H • 0 R • 1 BB • 6 K • 73 pitches • 24 batters faced Azariah has become one of our most consistent athletes at PPP. Every lift, every throwing session, every recovery piece, every adjustment… done with intent and consistency. The offseason gains are showing up in a big way: ⬆️ 17 lbs bodyweight ⬆️ 422w CMJ Mean Power ⬆️ 4.4 MPH Avg FB Velo When athletes commit to the process daily, performance starts showing up under the lights.
