In displacement settings, electronic products often become e-waste. IOM Uganda's #Ewaste initiative, funded by @InnovasjonNorge, repurposes these products through battery recovery and repair in partnership with @brightsolar, @_AceleAfrica, @openenergylabs, @mercycorps.

Trained by @Brightsolar, Simon and 3 of his colleagues intend to repair 5,000 Sun-Bell lanterns sourced from within Bidibidi Refugee Settlement. This will help reduce e-waste in the settlement which pose both health and environmental risks due to poor disposal and handling.
