You've reportedly spent over $3 million staffing at premium rates instead of addressing the core issues. Your decision to permanently replace striking workers is not only ruthless, it’s potentially illegal under labor law. Meanwhile, staff assaults have surged 40% — 236 reports in 2024 alone. Rhode Island Hospital & Hasbro Children’s Nurses at both institutions just voted to authorize a strike. They’re exhausted from being undervalued, underpaid, and pushed beyond limits. The contract proposals on the table, backed by Brown University and hospital leadership, clearly miss the mark. This is not sustainable.
