I stand corrected. @lejeunesimon Ive put some money in @wealthsimple Monkey Market Portfolio. Why hold $CASH.TO? it pays 2.24% with 0.11% MER when Wealthsimples MM Portfolio gives 2.5% with no fee. Twas a no brainer. I slammed 50k in there

I use $XFR.TO for risk free. Itโ€™s a floating interest rate fund that pays a 0.5-0.6% higher dividend than $CASH.TO - Itโ€™s not much but on a couple hundred thousand it adds up.

I'm just waiting for a certain someone to chime in here and say that your dividends don't matter. Which I will not read, because I continue to have him blocked. You must have a lot of cash if your $CASH.to income caused that big of an increase! Any plans to put it to work?

"I need to park a big chunk of cash for six months. Where should I put it?" What I'd do, ranked by preference: 1. Find a HISA promo from a bank 2. Use $CASH.to or $HISA.to ETFs 3. Put it in a money market ETF like $ZMMK.to Keeping risk low is paramount. Don't chase yield.

Yields from the $cash.to ETF keep falling. A couple of months ago you could get 2.75% from it, now down to 2.5%. I no longer have any cash there, can do much better chasing HISA promos (incl. RBC, who is offering 4.7% right now).
