VXLAN is used to stretch Layer 2 networks over a Layer 3 infrastructure, basically, it helps connect devices in different locations as if they were on the same LAN. EVPN is the control plane for VXLAN. Instead of flooding the network to learn MAC addresses, EVPN uses BGP to advertise them. This makes the network more scalable and efficient. vPC (Virtual Port Channel) lets you connect a device, like a server or a switch, to two Nexus switches at the same time. The goal is simple: more redundancy and no blocked links. Normally, when you connect to two switches, one link is blocked by STP to prevent loops. But with vPC, both links stay active. Traffic can use both paths, and if one switch fails, the other keeps working. vPC is often used in data centers because it gives high availability and better use of bandwidth. There are other ways to do similar things, like EVPN multi-homing or MLAG, VSS etc. on other platforms, but vPC is very common in Cisco Nexus setups.
