Day 1 of the Digital Stewardship Training in Kilifi, Kenya marked the beginning of a transformative journey. We delved into the significant influence of gender norms and stereotypes on digital spaces, examining their impact on online interactions. The interactive sessions covered crucial topics such as understanding gender dynamics in digital environments, identifying who is heard and who faces harm, and developing strategies to reclaim safe, inclusive platforms. We also analyzed legal frameworks addressing Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence, highlighting protections and gaps from national to global levels. Furthermore, we explored referral pathways, focusing on how digital stewards can aid survivors in accessing justice and healing.
