On 22 May 2026, I held an online meeting with Mr. Joseph Nkinzo, Director General of the Civil Protection of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Our discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the ICDO and the DRC in relevant civil protection fields, with particular attention given to the current Ebola-related situation and the challenges arising from the evolving developments. During the meeting, we expressed the ICDO’s solidarity with the DRC and reiterated the Organization’s readiness to continue supporting efforts aimed at strengthening preparedness, coordination and response capacities.
