A little bit different to the "dodgy developer and builder" narrative that was levied at industry after the Lacrosse fire. As I suspected at the time, and as @MichaelBleby has written, @CladdingSafeVic found developers and builders were (in most cases) constructing #apartments with materials specified and approved by the building designers and surveyors. It wasn't substition to save a buck as was cynically suggested. Yet developers (and consumers) continue to be slugged with an obscene building permit levy to fix problems they didn't create. I personally had to pay it on the knockdown-rebuild of my own house! Another well written, fair précis of how the UK can learn from @CladdingSafeVic. Interesting to also note that NSW ‘building owners’ (strata/commonhold) have 2 Test Cases in the Federal Court against cladding MANUFACTURERS.

It’s always easy to see the grass as greener somewhere else but you do get the impression @CladdingSafeVic is getting on with the job. One state working at 200 blocks a year. We have 200 officials committees steering groups advisors etc and have approved 2 blocks under the BSF?
