Bringing together the experts to advance data-driven decision-making for India’s energy future, NITI Aayog has organised a conference on India Climate and Energy Modelling Forum: Role of Integrated Models for Enriching Decision-Making, today in New Delhi.
During his address, Shri BVR Subrahmanyam, CEO, NITI Aayog, underscored India's commitment to host COP 2028, and emphasised that robust data partnerships and advanced modelling are critical for informed policy-making and India's net-zero strategy.
Dr. Anshu Bhardwaj, Programme Director, NITI Aayog, during the welcome session, stated that India must leverage modelling tools to decouple economic growth from fossil fuels while striving for a $30 trillion GDP.
Ms. Nidhi Khare, Secretary, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, quoted that High-quality models are not an option but an essential tool for forecasting and policy formulation.
Additionally, Shri Anil Jain, Chairperson, Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), marked the celebration of the IESS platform's decade-long journey. He also applauded NITI Aayog for deepening engagement with knowledge partners.
India is at a pivotal stage, using advanced modelling and strategic partnerships to lead in sustainable growth and net-zero pathways. This conference will play a crucial role in redefining India's Energy landscape, moving a step ahead towards a stronger and brighter Energy Future.
