The EU has strong rules in place to ensure a high level of safety, security and privacy for minors in digital platforms. But we need to do more. EU leaders and the European Commission are examining how to make online spaces safer for minors, including through a digital age of majority for accessing social media. The G7 summit in Evian next week will contribute to a coordinated global approach to the protection of minors in the digital space.
