During an independent study, researchers from ClickSafe Intelligence encountered sexual conduct directed either towards themselves or other players while engaging with Roblox experiences that were accessible to young children in over 20% of all play sessions. Other popular games mentioned by child predators include Fortnite, Call of Duty, League of Legends, VR Chat, and even Among Us.

Child predators have traditionally used social media and chat apps to reach children; but according to ClickSafe, within the past five years mentions of online games in these spaces has increased. Predators were not only ingratiating themselves in online gaming communities, but have become increasingly adept at dodging filters in order to lure victims to other sites and chat apps.

At PAX East we sat in on a panel titled: "Boss Level Threat: Child Exploitation Trends in Online Gaming" hosted in part by ClickSafe Intelligence. At first we were simply going to post the article, but the content and subject matter is too important not to signal boost directly on social media. Here's some of what we learned.
