This is normal AWS behavior! When you stop an instance, the auto-assigned (ephemeral) public IPv4 is released. On start, you get a new one. Fix: Allocate an Elastic IP and associate it with your instance. It stays fixed across stop/start. Tip: Reboot keeps the IP. Stop/Start doesn’t. #AWS #EC2 #CloudTips

Here’s why: Security Groups are stateful. 👉If your Load Balancer SG outbound allows traffic to EC2, and your EC2 SG inbound allows traffic from the LB, the return traffic is automatically allowed. 👉That means outbound rules on EC2 are not required for serving web traffic. When do you need outbound on EC2? 👉Only when EC2 initiates connections itself like downloading packages, pulling OS updates, or calling external APIs. In that case, open outbound 80/443.
