Surveys predict BRS win in Jubilee Hills by-election with a thumping majority.
In what could be a major boost for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), a recent survey by the reputed research organisation ‘Codemo–Connecting Democracy’ has predicted a clear victory for the party in the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency by-election.
The survey suggests that BRS is likely to secure 42.8% of the vote share - 10.1 percentage ahead of the ruling Congress party, which is projected to get 32.7%.
The BJP stands a distant third with 19.5%, while other parties together account for 5%.
This by-election was necessitated following the death of sitting MLA Maganti Gopinath, who had won three consecutive terms from Jubilee Hills.
Codemo, which has previously conducted surveys in states such as Rajasthan and Maharashtra and for the Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh, carried out this independent telephone survey among nearly 2,000 respondents across 19 areas of the Jubilee Hills constituency.
The sample included 22.9% women, and respondents represented all age groups, educational levels, and professions.
