yeah the fact that the chiefs got to keep the original (reworked) deal in place and also got to add 2 years and also got to get ahead of the market are all similar to the last time
qb market will surpass mahomes again, & still no one has touched burrow's 24.5% apy/cap @ signing

Now that OTC has full details on the new Patrick Mahomes contract, I thought that I would visualize the annual cash flow with a divider between his previous and new contract.
His APY on the previous one ended up being $47.6375M.
The APY on his new contract is a shade over $63M.

I dont know that you spend good money for an extra coach though he has to be able to be good on the field and that I dont see

Jalen Coker was due $1.075M in 2026 on an ERFA tender.
The 2nd round RFA tender for a WR in 2027 should be about $6.26M.
Subtract that from $35M, and that would equate to about $27.66M in 2028, which should be below the transition tag amount for that season.

I can agree about Shemar, though his contract was always going to be fully guaranteed, it was about the mostly standard language that would eliminate guarantees due to cause. As for Trey, well . . . I think we’re a better team without a stat chaser.
