In 2021, driven by the vision to create a digitally inclusive ecosystem, we, in collaboration with the
@MastercardFdn, launched the
#DigitalEconomyProgram. This initiative seeks to bridge the digital divide in underserved areas and reach last-mile communities. Now in its third year, the program has made significant strides, including the graduation of three Technology Solution Partners (
@HamweEastAfrica,
@MobiPayAgroSys and
#Servicescorp) from the
#CommunityPass Sandbox, with plans to credential over 500,000 farmers with a digital footprint by December 2024.
This year, the program intends to prioritize three key areas: access to markets (inputs and off-take), access to financial services (savings, loans, and digital payments), and enhancing our partners' institutional capacity. By December 2024, we aim to reach 500,000 participants and create 61,000 employment opportunities for youth in the agriculture, education, and health sectors.
