If they love what they do, they'll do what they love.
Every
#sport is experiencing a downturn in the number of kids playing organized
#competitivesport.
Don't blame
#covid. It was happening way before we'd even heard of the words pandemic, face-mask and social distancing.
We have to move on from the obsession with the performance
#pathway and the assumption that every kid who picks up a tennis racket could be, should be, wants to be a Grand Slam Champion or that every kid who kicks a ball wants to play in the Premier League.
Create the environment - give them the opportunity to fall in love with their
#sport - and if they love it - they'll keep doing it.
It's all that matters - really.
Who cares how much
#talent a kid has, if they're not coming to training or playing games?
The only player who can't improve is the one who is not there, so your first and most important responsibility as a
#coach is to build relationships, create the environment and give them the opportunity to learn to love the
#sport and to WANT to come back!
Simple!
