After you're done with a fresh OS or factory reset your device is clean. I've seen talk about an alternative method called FRST on r/computerviruses that might also work without a whole reset, we're looking to try it ourselves and will update here if its a success

Fun fact: Pacemakers and ICD's are still flashed with OS2/Warp because it is the safest OS. Only a few computerviruses are ever made for OS2.
