Lack of connections. Couldn't figure out how to get published. Smashwords came online just as I was working on my first novel worth publishing and once I found out about them I gave it a go. I found out about kdp and createspace a couple months later and then published there 2

I don't use KU for two reasons: 1 - when i used it I didn't get any reads from it and 2- i had issues with kdp a few years ago when i fixed a broken link in a bibliography. i've always published wide, starting w/ smashwords before i found kdp and createspace.

As someone who spent his youth shooting baskets, drinking beer in the park, goofing off in school and getting into neighborhood scraps, I never thought I would become a writer. So, have recently gone through fifty years of files, my intern and I are working on a complete bibliography. Don't ever let people tell you can't do something. Thanks in particular to Roy Childs, who, at the bus station leaving Dartmouth in 1980 (Cato Summer Conference), explicitly encouraged me to start writing. At the time, I had zero publications. Ten years later, he got me a gig at Cato where I wrote one of their best-read policy studies on the drug war. Voila. I'm staying with D2D which I was mostly grandfathered into via Smashwords. Not willing to remove 60 ebooks from retailers. But paperbacks is where i sell and all but one of my paperbacks is through kdp via createspace. 80% of my kdp sales are paperbacks. I'll pay the $12

In this clip, Andy Cole reflects on just how special it was to play alongside the incredibly intelligent Peter Beardsley. ⚽✨ Cole explains how Beardsley’s football brain and movement made the game look effortless, constantly finding pockets of space and making the right decisions at the right time. It’s a great insight into what separates good players from truly elite ones — understanding space on the pitch. 🧠📍 Watch as Cole also shares a bit of advice for players looking to improve their movement and create space during games. @PeteGravesTV #AndyCole #PeterBeardsley #FootballIQ #FootballMovement #CreateSpace #StrikerPlay #FootballReels #SoccerTips #LearnFootball ⚽🎥

It takes me years to write biographies. I only have one history book in paperback on D2D. It doesn't sell enough to meet the $100 minimum. The titles that sell have paperbacks on kdp via createspace. Just as my ebooks on D2D are via smashwords.

I have 95% of my paperbacks through kdp via createspace. I checked: 6 of the 7 books on D2D are poetry or plays. Just one regular book. That's why I don't reach $100 net. My books that sell are on kdp.
