Polishing the soul" means to remove the dirt that clouds the soul. Specifically, it means "polishing the five senses. It means enriching our human nature and creating a beautiful humanity. A beautiful soul, a soul with a beautiful heart filled with kindness and compassion. With these in mind, I would like to continue to think and work toward the future, as I enter my fifth year of developing my artistic activities. ⚫︎The picture is me and my hair. I have recently noticed something about wearing hair extensions. Human extension hair. When I put on human extension hair, I realize that there is indeed hair there physically, but the hair is not alive. So even if I put it on, it will wear off over time. There is no life there. It's obvious, but I realized that the care and handling of the hair is different from my own hair. Life/ War/ Humans Movie We went to see a movie that my daughter really wanted to see. The best-selling Japanese novel “Ano Hana ga Saku Oka de Kimi ni Metatteiru” by Natsue Shiomi, which has sold over 900,000 copies, has become a hot topic of conversation on social networking services. “Yuri, a modern-day high school girl, travels back in time to 1945 Japan, where she meets Akira, whom she becomes increasingly attracted to, but he is a Kamikaze pilot.” (Kamikaze, were a part of the Japanese Special Attack Units of military aviators who flew suicide attacks for the Empire of Japan against Allied naval vessels in the closing stages of the Pacific campaign of World War II, intending to destroy warships more effectively than with conventional air attacks. About 3,800 kamikaze pilots died during the war, and more than 7,000 naval personnel were killed by kamikaze attacks.) Until now, Japanese war movies didn’t have the image of being watched by many young people, but this movie seems to be a hot topic among middle and high school students like my daughter in Japan. I was given the opportunity to do a nursing home medical internship this year, as part of my Artistic activities. I have a lot to think about, when I do and experience myself. The nursing care job itself starts at the lowest wage in Japan, which is 1100 yen. (＄8) Ordinary manual or clerical work pays better. So it is hard work and not a popular job in Japan. Also, they are very particular about appearance and require black hair. Tattoos are of course not allowed here. For my Intern, I hide my tattoos. I think the salary should be higher. It is a very important job that involves human “lives”. However, if you want to do something for people, it is great and challenging job. It is better to have basic knowledge and qualifications, but there is nothing special about it, and in the end, it really comes down to how much you can do as a “human being” and with love, without thinking of it as someone else's business. The other day, I was with an elderly lady with dementia who was talking all the time, and her hair ornament had almost fallen off her head, it was hanging down, looked like it aches. When I put it back on, she became silent for a while, and then smiled at me. Then she started talking again… It wasn’t on manual job. I just did it because if I was her, I thought I will appreciate it. ————————— You exist as you are.
