People needed the full route from somewhere they probably knew (in this case gatech). I could have given many different routes as long as it ended at datageneral which knew how to deliver to me.

マイコン博物館の所蔵品を紹介します。
1970年頃、小型コンピュータや、ミニコンピュータ等の外部記憶装置として、多く利用された磁気ディスク(通称:お皿)1枚仕様のディスクパック(Diskpac)です。
写真左上:上部の取っ手に有るスライド部分を押しながら、取っ手を立てると、ケース下半分の保護カバーが外れます。
因みに、この青色は、大手ミニコンメーカーのDataGeneral社が好んで使っていた色です。
写真右上:ディスクパックの底側の保護カバーを外すと、ケース側面に磁気ディスク装置の磁気ヘッドが入り込む開口部が有ります。
磁気ディスクの回転機構と、茶色の磁気ディスク(お皿)の側面が見えます。
ディスクパックを磁気ディスク装置にセットすると、横側から記録されたデータを読み書きする磁気ヘッドが、ディスクパックの保護ケース内に入り込み、磁気ディスク面のデータを読み書きします。
直径30cmを超える、巨大な磁気ディスクですが、記録容量は、お皿1枚で数Mbyte程度でしたが、1970年代のミニコン用としては贅沢な容量でした。

奥に磁気ヘッドが格納されている部分が見えます。
奥から磁気ヘッドが出てきて磁気ディスクに記録されたデータを読み書きします。
磁気ディスク装置の外観は、縦型洗濯機に似た形状です。

ディスクパック導入前は、紙テープ読み取り装置からOSや、言語を数十分掛けて読み込んでいましたが、ディスクパックが在れば、数分でOSが起動できました。
データの管理も今のPCと同じように行う事が出来るようになりました。
磁気ディスク装置の導入で運用が楽になりますが、数百万円する装置なので、導入の敷居いが高い、贅沢な周辺機器でした。

Aaaand we’ve reached full assembly.
I’m calling it the Yoyodyne Y-26. It’s my homage to the Data General Dasher D2, as seen in Severance as the computers used in Macro Data Refinement.
Using a Raspberry Pi 5 running Debian 13.3. KDE Plasma and Mate are my two main choices for the desktop environment. The display is a 10.1 IPS with touch. Keyboard is an off brand mechanical with an enclosure I designed to match the system. Mouse is built from a Bambulab kit and a design I found on Printables. Filament is @GreenGate3D American White and American Blue R-PETG.
This is sort of a beta version. After assembly I made some small design tweaks that will make printing and assembly a bit easier.

Nor be small thing happen oh! For my 5th day sermon, dem nearly hold me hostage. I dey preach give one couple wey never hear IRYS before. The guy just dey bomb like say na him destiny be that omor 😂😂
I enter sharp, I tell am say “Bros, nor be life you dey live oh”. IRYS na datachain wey dey pay, any data you drop fit turn profit. No be yeye app wey go chop your money vanish.

“So you don dey carry me live for past while your mates dey IRYS”? Bros, today you must pick PIN!”
My guy confuse: PIN? ATM?
Babe shout: “No oh! PIN na punishment! Position yourself, Invest well, Network sharp-sharp. If you no do am, na floor you sleep tonight.”
Crowd scatter laugh, I nearly drop mic. Guy still dey form, but babe snatch him phone make she fit onboard herself quick. The guy wan drag back, she hiss: “Shift, werey, make future catch me small.”
Two weeks later, as I Matt hood again, the same guy don turn IRYS ambassador dey yarn like professor. 😂😭

Omor me dey one side dey chop jollof with them, dey plan next sermon.
Moral: If your data nor Dey give you money, your pocket go dry and your babe fit punish you join. 😂

just finish one 6-day sermon waka preaching Irys up and down. First day, when I tell people say centralized storage don turn myth, dem look me like I dey sell snake oil. Some even bend head like, “Wetin this mugu dey talk sef?”😭😂😭
But I no gree. I tell them, “Start to preach Irys too this thing fit help una fight poverty.” One woman shout, “If Irys go defeat poverty, make e start with my landlord rent wey don dey wait since January” I just laugh tell am, “madam use am well, na your landlord go dey dash you rent soon.” Everywhere scatter with laughter.
Na so e be some sabi small, most no get clue. But when dem see say civilization don reach their doorstep, dem begin shine teeth. Skeptics turn believers sharp sharp.
Poverty no go vanish one day, but with Irys, at least we go fit dey laugh while we dey hammer am.
