Agreed, if they had introduced them into remote areas running deisel power stations they may have proved themselves or failed and losses would be minimal, but it wasn't about clean cheap energy it was about Programmed obselesence, constant turnover/ replacement. All for landfill.

coal, solar, hydro. In anycase desiel powerplants are more efficient than deisel engine on a train. So whole system has less carbon footprint.

YES! Would buy THAT pickup in a hot minute. Needs to be a reliable deisel tranny 4WD to haul horses, hay, equipment. AC would be one nice extra. Cloth seats = fine. Manual tranny = fine.

I had a separate 60 gallon tank in the bed of my truck just for the oil, so another filter and heating element was there. The truck still used Deisel in its tanks

Never had a French car but my Renault Traffic 2L Deisel , 14 plate has been excellent . Still going strong 123,000 in. Comfortable and a great drive
