#DesignDestinations | In Tokyo, Japan, you can find some amazing public toilets designed by acclaimed architects 🚽
Completed in 2023, the Tokyo Toilet Project features seventeen redesigned public restrooms around the area of Shibuya.
In collaboration with the Shibuya City government, architects and designers spent six years transforming these facilities to ensure they are accessible and comfortable to all, regardless of age or gender.
The Tokyo Toilet Project has become a popular design landmark throughout the city, symbolising Japan's world-famous culture of hospitality. The toilets also recently featured in Wim Wenders’s film Perfect Days, which tells the story of a Tokyo toilet cleaner.
