Kashmir vs PoJK, A Contrast Written in History & Reality
In 1947, Jammu & Kashmir legally acceded to India through the Instrument of Accession. Pakistan rejected this, invaded with tribal militias, unleashed massacres, and forcefully occupied one-third of the land. This area Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) remains an illegal occupation never recognized in international law.
Today in PoJK
• People’s 38 demands ignored.
• Strikes, shutdowns & protests across Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli, Mirpur, Neelum Valley.
• Pakistan’s response, troops deployed, cities sealed, internet throttled, voices silenced.
• 3 million Kashmiris trapped under systemic denial of rights, now even raised at the UN Human Rights Council.
Meanwhile, in Indian-administered Kashmir
• Tourism boom, 34 lakh visitors in 2020 to 2.1 crore in 2023.
• World-class infrastructure, World’s tallest rail bridge, Asia’s longest tunnel under construction, highways & airports upgraded.
• Grassroots democracy, First-ever District Development Council elections (2020) with 51% turnout.
• Economic revival, ₹1.63 lakh crore investment proposals, 30,000 govt jobs, 650 startups.
• Social progress, 100% villages with tap water, 1.7 lakh homes built, universal health coverage, 1,100 services online.
• Peace dividend, Terror incidents down by nearly 80% since 2018, life returning to normalcy with markets, sports & culture thriving.
The Contrast
PoJK :-Illegally occupied, denied democracy, silenced by force, trapped in unrest.
Indian J&K :- Legally integrated, democratically empowered, building peace, progress & prosperity.
One Kashmir builds bridges of steel, of democracy, of opportunity.
The other burns bridges between people and state, between rights and rulers.
Two Kashmirs. Two destinies.
• India’s Kashmir, Democracy, Development, Dignity.
• Pakistan’s Kashmir, Suppression, Stagnation, Silence.
History began this divide in 1947. Today, the contrast is sharper than ever,
Development vs Destruction. Freedom vs Fear. Empowerment vs Exploitation.
