🇪🇺 Why does the European Union integrate at different speeds❓
🌍 The phenomenon of differentiated integration shows that not all Member States follow the same path – some deepen cooperation, while others opt out or resist.
Prof. Janusz Ruszkowski (@USzczecinski) analyses the sources of differentiated integration, distinguishing:
➡️ primary factors within Member States (motivations, political divisions, cultural and legal traditions),
➡️ and secondary factors linked to the EU system (institutions, law, integration dynamics).
⚖️ The article examines whether differentiation leads to spill-over and deeper integration – or to spill-back and fragmentation of the EU.
