Indeed - Insulting to one's intelligence and disappointing to see Trump repeatedly posting a claim about SS taxation that's invalid on its face.
It would be much better to explain WHY the 1983 SS tax formulas cannot by adjusted via reconciliation (this bill).
Then amend the House Bill provide a
#DirectCredit to taxes owed by seniors - e.g. $800 for single senior filers up to $75K and $1500 to joint filers up to $110K.
Even IF only doable in this bill for 3 years - with a promise to reassess and extend in years 4 5 depending on the health of the US economy and federal budget.
Note -my earnings figures above $75K - $110k are the 1983 $25K and $32K adjusted for inflation.
