Today, the Problem Solvers Caucus announced the formation of a bipartisan working group focused on addressing extreme partisan gerrymandering across the country.
The creation of this working group comes at a time when Americans across the political spectrum are increasingly frustrated with a system in which politicians choose their voters instead of voters choosing their representatives.
We believe bipartisan reforms are needed to restore competitiveness, fairness, and accountability to the democratic process.
This will get worse if lawmakers continue caring more about their own self preservation over than their constituents’ rights journalists reporting more on the congressional scoreboard versus the suppression of the electorate’s voice.

Gerrymandering — it’s the process of redrawing political voting lines to benefit the party in power.
It's named after Founding Father Elbridge Gerry, who created a district resembling a salamander. Thus, the “Gerry-mander.” cbsn.ws/3RwfPlm
