In security, ignoring a minor irregularity is like ignoring a spark in a dry forest - By the time you notice the smoke, it’s already too late Proactive security management uses Early Warning Indicators (EWIs) to catch minor irregularities before they escalate into major crises True resilience requires shifting from a culture of reaction to a culture of prevention #SecurityManagement #ProactiveSecurity #RiskMitigation #CyberSecurity #PhysicalSecurity My favourite statement from Madam President @SuluhuSamia today explains this very important principle in a security field. Both, but differently. The bar doesn't apply to either so long as they don’t depart. However, unless they receive some sort of status that provides inspection and admission, EWIs can’t adjust, they always have to leave, but usually don’t even though the bar is waiverable.

GKN Aerospace operates three main sites in China, all focused on its civil (commercial aerospace) business line. These are explicitly listed on the company’s official website as Shanghai, Langfang, and Jingjiang. gknaerospace.com gknaerospace.com Here are the details: • Shanghai (office)
Unit 03, 7th Floor (actual floor: 6th), Block B, No. 899 Yaohua Road, China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Shanghai, China.
This serves as the regional office/support hub. gknaerospace.com • Langfang (Hebei Province)
Fokker Elmo China
Langfang Economic & Technical Development Zone, Langfang, Hebei 065001, China.
This is the largest wiring systems site in GKN Aerospace’s global network, with nearly 800 employees. It specializes in electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS) for high-volume commercial aircraft (e.g., Airbus A320, Boeing 737/777, Bombardier CSeries). The site joined GKN via the 2015 Fokker acquisition. gknaerospace.com • Jingjiang (Jiangsu Province)
Two facilities in the Economic and Technological Development Zone: • No. 1 Xinwang Road • No. 3 Wanfugang Road
These support civil aerospace operations, including an aerostructures joint venture (with SAMC/AVIC/COMAC) and a transparencies (windows) site. gknaerospace.com Note: GKN Automotive (the driveline business) and GKN Powder Metallurgy have significantly more sites across China (10 manufacturing facilities for Automotive via joint ventures like SDS, plus others in places like Danyang, Yizheng, Wuhan, etc.). The “three locations” phrasing matches GKN Aerospace’s official description exactly. gknautomotive.com For the latest contact info, maps, or career opportunities, check the GKN Aerospace China locations page directly.

Ok, tin foil time: GKN Aerospace (a division of Melrose Industries plc) is a global Tier 1 aerospace supplier specializing in aerostructures, engine systems/components, electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS), landing gear, and transparencies (windows/canopies). It serves commercial, defense, and advanced air mobility programs, with products on ~90% of the world’s aircraft and engines. The Garden Grove, CA facility (site of the recent MMA leak) specializes in high-performance aircraft transparencies, including acrylic/PMMA cockpit canopies and windows—most notably for the F-35 Lightning II (using MMA as a key raw material for the acrylic polymer). manufacturingdive.com/news/g… Key/major customers (drawn directly from GKN’s official civil and defense market pages and Melrose reports): Boeing — Major programs including 737, 777, and 787 (aerostructures and transparencies). gknaerospace.com/markets-sol… Lockheed Martin — Critical defense customer, especially the F-35 Lightning II program (Garden Grove produces the canopies; recent customer-funded expansion to double capacity). Also C-130 and other programs. gknaerospace.com/news-insigh… Engine OEMs:Pratt & Whitney (RTX) — Strong on GTF engines, military programs (e.g., F135), and additive components. GE Aerospace — Engine structures, repairs, and components. Safran and Rolls-Royce — LEAP engine shafts, military engines (e.g., Gripen RM16), and other RRSPs. Defense/other: Northrop Grumman, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (MQ-9B drones), Honeywell, NHIndustries (NH90), BAE Systems, and various militaries (e.g., Swedish FMV for Gripen). caat.org.uk/data/companies/g… @grok can you verify these connections? And what is your unfiltered take on this, given current global tensions? It looks like a "freak accident" but given their clientele, i guess "accidents" can happen.

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. — GCN’s Garden Grove facility specializes in transparencies—aircraft windows and fighter-jet canopies, including expanded production for the F-35. === Garden Grove is the heart of Little Saigon, the largest and oldest Vietnamese community outside of Vietnam itself—home to more than 189,000 Vietnamese Americans across Orange County. === The chemical involved in the vapor release, methyl methacrylate (MMA), is the key raw material used to manufacture the acrylic plastics for these components. GKN Aerospace specializes in advanced airframe and engine structures, landing gear, electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS), and transparencies such as cockpit canopies and windows. It is based in the United Kingdom with its main operations office in Birmingham and its head office in the Mayfair district of London. Its tech equips over 90% of the world’s commercial and military aircraft and engines. This includes passenger jets, business aircraft, helicopters, advanced air mobility vehicles — and fighter jets like the F-35. The company employs 16k people 32 manufacturing facilities in 12 countries. In 2025 it generated £3.6 billion in revenue. It is a key supplier to Airbus, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and other leading defense companies, notably providing canopies for the F-35 Lightning II.
HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam (Al Jazeera) — Vietnam Celebrates 50 Years Since End Of War With U.S. April 30, 1975–2025 A military parade held in Ho Chi Minh City concludes celebration of 50th anniversary since the fall of Saigon. Thousands of Vietnamese have waved red flags and sang patriotic songs as a grand military parade held in Ho Chi Minh City concluded Vietnam’s 50th anniversary celebrations of the end of war with the United States. Wednesday’s event commemorated the first act of the country’s reunification on April 30, 1975, when communist-run North Vietnam seized Saigon, the capital of the US-backed South, renamed Ho Chi Minh City shortly after the war in honour of the North’s founding leader. A lotus-shaped float carrying a portrait of Ho Chi Minh was near the front of the parade as fighter jets and helicopters carrying red flags flew overhead. Al Jazeera’s Tony Cheng, reporting from the city, said thousands of people stayed in the streets overnight to get the best vantage point for the parade, which was “a day of sombre reflection but also a day of celebration”. “I am proud of having contributed to liberating the south,” said 75-year-old veteran Tran Van Truong who had travelled – dressed in full military uniform – from the capital, Hanoi, to see the parade. “But what’s gone is gone, I have no hatred for those from the other side of the battle,” Truong told the AFP news agency. “We should join hands to celebrate the end of the war.” For the first time, more than 300 soldiers from China, Laos and Cambodia also took part in the spectacle. More than 300,000 Chinese soldiers were involved in the bloody conflict, according to state media, providing crucial anti-aircraft defence support and helping with logistics and supplies. “I think Hanoi is signalling to China that they recognise China’s historical contribution,” said Zach Abuza, a professor at the National War College in Washington who focuses on Southeast Asian politics. “It’s also another way for them to signal: ‘Don’t think our foreign policy is lurching towards the Americans.'” Strain in U.S. ties This year marks the 30-year anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the US. In 2023, Vietnam upgraded its relations with the US to that of a comprehensive strategic partner, the highest diplomatic status it gives to any country and the same level of relations as China and Russia. There are new signs of strain in the relationship with Washington, however, with President Donald Trump’s imposition of heavy tariffs and the cancellation of much foreign aid, which has affected war remediation efforts in Vietnam. Agent Orange contamination and unexploded ordnance in the countryside still threaten lives. The future of those projects is now at risk because of the Trump administration’s broad cuts to USAID. 📌 BREAKING: The U.S. Treasury imposed new sanctions on several Gaza flotilla organizers and pro-Palestine activists, accusing them of links to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the PFLP. 🔹Among those targeted is the Popular Conference for Palestinians Abroad (PCPA), a Palestinian diaspora organization founded in 2017 that advocates for Palestinian rights and the right of return. The Treasury claims the group is directed by Hamas, an allegation PCPA denies. 🔹Others sanctioned include Global Sumud Flotilla organizer and Steering Committee member Saif Abukishek, PCPA official Hisham Abdallah Sulayman Abu Mahfuz, Belgium-based Samidoun coordinator Mohammed Khatib, and Madrid-based activist Jaldia Abubakra Aueda. Samidoun is as an international Palestinian prisoner solidarity network, which the U.S. government claims is linked to the Palestinian resistance group PFLP, and Washington designates as a terrorist organization. 🔹Treasury also sanctioned Marwan Abu Ras, head of the Palestinian Scholars Association, a Gaza-based religious organization the U.S. claims operates on behalf of Hamas. 🔹Additional sanctions targeted Karim Sayed Ahmed Moghny, Muhammad Jamal Hassan al-Najjar, and Sherif Ahmed Ewis Ahmed, a member of HASM, an armed Egyptian group that authorities describe as an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood. U.S. officials accuse the men of supporting training for fighters, weapons procurement, and financial operations tied to Hamas and HASM.

A Hidden Defence Gem. Rising Revenue. Rising Profits. 🚀 I am trading it for 20-25% gains Stock: Rossell Techsys What it does: You know how a fighter jet or helicopter is built? It's not just one company that builds everything. Big giants like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Honeywell - they need hundreds of small but critical parts. ROSSTECH makes one of the most critical ones. The nervous system of an aircraft. 🧠 What exactly do they make? Think of it like the wiring inside your house but for fighter jets and military helicopters. Every aircraft has thousands of wires connecting engines, cockpits, weapons, radars, sensors all talking to each other. This is called EWIS - Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems. Their clients? 🤝 Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Honeywell - global defence giants. They've even delivered 50,000 parts for the Apache - world's most advanced combat helicopter.
