I used to be a supporter until... Support based on political convenience isn't leadership. Indian-origin taxpayers contribute billions to the US economy. You can't enjoy the wealth they generate and then call their roots a "hellhole." Respect is not optional. 🇮🇳🇺🇸#IndianAmerican #EconomicContribution

It is worth a closer look because the story is not one sided. 🤔 Yes, the official advisory report from the Migration Advisory Committee estimates the 2022–23 cohort of partner visa arrivals will have a net lifetime fiscal deficit of about £5.6 billion in present value terms. That works out to roughly £109,000 per person on average. That is a real finding from a serious source and deserves honest discussion about how these numbers are calculated and what policies shape them. But here is the other side of the picture. The same committee and recent reporting note that skilled workers who arrived in 2022–23 are expected to contribute a net positive amount of about £47 billion to public finances over their lifetimes. That is after accounting for long term use of public services by migrants who stay and settle with their families. That is not a small detail. It is a huge contribution that supports the NHS, schools, roads, and other public services. Everyday reality adds more nuance: • Many dependents and partners do find jobs, pay taxes, pay National Insurance, and support the NHS and social care sector. They often fill roles that are hard to recruit for locally. 👩‍⚕️👨‍🍳 • A portion set up small businesses. That creates jobs and provides services in towns and cities. 🏪 • Others support their skilled partners who are filling shortages in healthcare, engineering, IT, and other vital fields. That is practical economic contribution alongside family life. 💼❤️ What this really means is that we need to recognise costs when they exist, but also recognise massive benefits from legal skilled migration and from people who work and invest here. Balanced debate is the only way to shape migration rules that work for everyone. Here are a few points worth keeping in mind: 1. Costs are real but come from a specific route that was not designed mainly for economic reasons. Employment rates and earnings are the main drivers of fiscal impact over a lifetime. 2. Positive impact from skilled migration is huge. Policies that support fair access to work, protect people from exploitation, and allow contributors to stay can improve public finances and communities. 3. Reducing complex human stories to one headline number misses the bigger picture. Honest conversations matter more than one sided headlines. 💬 Let us have the full conversation together. 🇬🇧 #BalancedDebate #FactsMatter #SkilledMigration #LegalMigration #SupportOurNHS #SupportCareWorkers #ContributeAndThrive #UKJobs #GrowthNotFear #CommunityBuilders #EconomicContribution #FairMigration #PartnersAtWork #SmallBusinessUK #RealStoriesUK #StrongerTogether #PositiveImpact #ImmigrationTruth #UKFuture #KeepItReal

A perspective that highlights concerns about fiscal responsibility and legal process in immigration policy, matters of legitimate debate in any society. A nation's approach to newcomers often reflects its deepest values regarding compassion, opportunity, and shared responsibility. Historical and economic analysis frequently indicates that immigrants, over time, contribute substantively to the economic foundation that supports public programs, through entrepreneurship, labour, and tax revenue. The initial investment in integration often yields long-term societal returns. Perhaps the most sustainable policies are those that balance clear rules with a pragmatic recognition of human potential, ensuring that systems of law and welfare are both robust and capable of reflecting a nation's aspirational character. #ImmigrationPolicy #SocialContract #EconomicContribution #NationalValues Adhoura Aks #AdhouraAks

Celebrating Our Farmers' Triumph: A Call for Political Accountability As South Africa stands on the brink of a remarkable achievement, with our farmers projected to export a staggering R270 billion worth of farm produce in 2025, we must take a moment to express our deepest gratitude. This monumental contribution to our economy, bringing in much-needed foreign currency, is a testament to the hard work, resilience, and dedication of our farmers. To them, we say from the bottom of our hearts: Thank you, and Merry Christmas! Bravo! The Backbone of Our Economy South African farmers have been the unsung heroes, tirelessly working to bolster our economic stability, provide employment, and ensure food security. Their efforts have not only sustained us but have positioned South Africa as a significant player on the global stage in agriculture. It's time we acknowledge and celebrate their contribution. A Contrast in Action and Inaction However, this celebration also casts a stark light on the political landscape, particularly the actions—or lack thereof—of parties like the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) led by @julius_s_malema and his former colleague @ffloyd_shivambu. While our farmers have been building our nation's wealth, these leaders have failed to deliver on promises, such as constructing schools within their four-year tenure. Instead, they've occupied high-salary positions in Parliament, often seen wearing luxury brands like @Gucci and driving high-end vehicles like BMWs, all while their rhetoric sometimes veers towards inciting violence against the very farmers who are the backbone of our economy. A Wake-Up Call for Supporters It's high time that supporters of the EFF and ActionSA, along with all South Africans, demand accountability from their political leaders. What tangible contributions have these politicians made to the economy? While they indulge in luxury, our farmers toil to keep the economy afloat. The stark contrast between political talk and the tangible outcomes of our farmers' hard work cannot be ignored. The Need for Genuine Leadership The export figures are not just numbers; they represent the sweat, innovation, and commitment of South African farmers. It's crucial that our political leaders mirror this dedication. South Africans deserve leaders who contribute to the nation's progress, not just in words but through actions that genuinely uplift the community, support economic growth, and foster unity rather than division. A Message to Our Politicians To @Julius_S_Malema , @FloydShivambu , @Action4SA @HermanMashaba @Lesufi @MYANC @CyrilRamaphosa and all in political leadership: South Africans are watching. The time for empty promises and inflammatory rhetoric has passed. We need leaders who will support, not undermine, the sectors driving our economy forward. Let's remind these politicians that their duty is to serve the people, not their personal interests or luxury. Conclusion As we applaud our farmers, let this also be a moment of reflection for our political leaders. Let's celebrate those who work for South Africa's betterment and demand that our politicians match this dedication with actions that benefit all South Africans, not just themselves. Here's to our farmers, the true architects of our prosperity, and here's to hoping for a political landscape that truly reflects the spirit of service and sacrifice. #SouthAfricanFarmers #EconomicContribution #PoliticalAccountability #EFF #ActionSA #ThankYouFarmers #MerryChristmas
