I ordered mine online and got it shipped to my door but my guess is if you go in with your EFT prints and Eforms account already set up you will be able to submit your form 4 immediately.

Get your EFT fingerprints and do the Eforms. Took me 10 days to get my first one.

Just FYI: The iOS app "NFA Suite" will generate a reusable EFT file for the eForms from the photo of a fingerprint card... There are also a few websites out there that will do it. There was a free site being floated around the 3D2A space a while back, but I can't remember which

The 4473 is, by ATF rule, kept on file by the FFL and the ATF has the right to "audit" those files at any time. FFLs must keep 4473s for as long as they are in business and licensed. The electronic 4473 makes it even easier to search the 4473 at any FFL using eForms. That's a perfect definition of a de facto registry.
