After our sampling party for #Exp398, we had a fantastic field trip to the Eiffel to look at pyroclastic flow deposits and cinder cones around Laacher See. Yes, it was rainy but Look at these outcrops!

We’ve got samples! The #EXP398 sampling party is officially over. These sacks are full of thousands of pieces of rock and sediment that scientists will ship back to their labs to start uncovering the secrets of Santorini, Christiana, and Kolumbo volcanoes.
