Had a great time at @IPGP_officiel in Paris presenting our recent findings from IODP #Exp398 about the 'lost' eruption of Santorini recently published in @NatureGeosci. Special thanks to @marjanovic_m for the kind invitation!
In case you missed it, the recording of yesterday's IAVCEI Submarine Volcanism Seminar on first results from IODP #Exp398 is online now: submarine.iavceivolcano.org/…
Expeditions 398 and 401 were featured on the BBC World Service's Science in Action show! Hear about the results from the expedition sailing this time last year, and the expedition currently drilling in the Mediterranean.

After our sampling party for #Exp398, we had a fantastic field trip to the Eiffel to look at pyroclastic flow deposits and cinder cones around Laacher See. Yes, it was rainy but Look at these outcrops!
Heading home after a short stop @marum_de. Great to get an update on #IODP#Exp389 mobilisation & Comms (on track), hear about last week’s successful #Exp398 sampling party & see progress on expanding #BremenCoreRepository (internationally significant #researchinfrastructure)

We’ve got samples! The #EXP398 sampling party is officially over. These sacks are full of thousands of pieces of rock and sediment that scientists will ship back to their labs to start uncovering the secrets of Santorini, Christiana, and Kolumbo volcanoes.
