All fine in the end but @Ryanair have booked incorrect assistance for me. I have email confirmation that I booked assistance that requires the use of an aisle chair but this has then been changed to me not requiring the aisle chair. Shambles! #Fighttofly@RightsOnFlights
I genuinely fear for the day I'm no longer mobile. The lack of respect for disabled people in this country is scary. The sheer indignity that the people in #FighttoFly face is appalling and it's got to stop. Disabled people are no less human than anyone else.
I'm in a different situation to the people in #FighttoFly - I have MS and can walk - just struggle standing/queuing for a long time or walking a long way so I use airport assistance and borrow a wheelchair.
My experience last Sept at @manairport going to Schiphol...
These issues and many more are covered in @sophmorgTV’s eye-opening programme.
I highly recommend you watch it to get an accurate picture of how disabled travellers face such a #FightToFly.
It’s time for the aviation industry to wake up.⏰

On Monday, @Channel4 aired a hard-hitting documentary, fronted by disability advocate @sophmorgTV, #FightToFly.
It laid bare the reality of air travel for those with physical disabilities, wheelchair users in particular. Hopefully, this can drive meaningful change.🤞

If you want to know why I, a disabled person, would opt to travel round Europe only via train instead of flying I really recommend you watching 'Sophie Morgan's Fight To Fly.' #fighttofly@Channel4#accessibletravel
Watched @sophmorgTV's #FightToFly - broken wheelchairs, injured and traumatised disabled people, staff not trained to lift passengers properly. All this just to travel. A triggering watch.
Nothing surprising for disabled viewers but hope that air travel will change. Please.
Made it in one piece but I can honestly say Birmingham airport was an absolute shambles and compared to Palma, we are streets behind . Much work needed #fighttofly
Just caught up with #FightToFly by @sophmorgTV A real eye-opener for someone like me who is relatively able and, I hope, empathetic. channel4.com/programmes/soph… The lack of representation of people with disability at policymaking level in the airline industry is obviously bonkers.

However disabled people travel, whether it be by plane, train, bus, taxi we are still fighting societal attitudes alongside poorly designed public transport or poorly trained staff, access teams & lack of equipment provision.

Last year in @LawAndCritique I wrote about the destruction airlines cause to mobility aids & disabled people. Figured it would be outdated almost as soon as it's published bc surely there would be political/legal intervention, yet here we are #FightToFlylink.springer.com/article/10…

Next time you ask “how was your holiday?” bear in mind I’ll have experienced most of what's on the #FightToFly doc made by the brilliant @sophmorgTV and friends just to get there and back. Hope the AATA becomes law so everyone has #RightsOnFlights✈️♿️

As part of a @Channel4 documentary, disability advocate Sophie Morgan talks about her inspiration to launch ‘Rights on Flights’ and campaigns for airlines to be held accountable for poor treatment of disabled passengers.
