That's him admitting the "Affordable" Care Act is so broken it needs permanent emergency funding just to function. Let's talk about WHO created these expiration dates, because apparently you forgot. Hakeem Jeffries VOTED YES on the American Rescue Plan Act (March 10, 2021, House Vote 220-211) that made ACA subsidies TEMPORARY for 2021-2022 ONLY. He championed this bill, celebrating it as historic legislation. Then Jeffries VOTED YES on the Inflation Reduction Act (August 12, 2022) extending those subsidies through 2025 - still TEMPORARY. He released statements bragging about how this would "make health care more affordable and accessible." DEMOCRATS made these subsidies temporary. DEMOCRATS set the expiration dates. Not Republicans. If you want to blame someone for subsidies ending, blame the Democrats who wrote the bills and voted for them. Now here's the kicker - if the ACA needs PERMANENT emergency subsidies to be "affordable," then it's NOT ACTUALLY AFFORDABLE. Average family premiums jumped from $6,000 in 2000 to $27,000 by 2025 - that's 350% higher after the "Affordable" Care Act passed. Well, @McDonalds has had a day to review the events of this past week. They are still not complying with an answer to a question they have already acknowledged that is annoying to their customers. So now here is the plan. I'm calling for a NATIONWIDE BOYCOTT of all McDonalds Restaurants until they tell us: Why a patron would be asked to wait away from the pick-up window if there are NO OTHER CARS IN THE DRIVE-THRU LINE. Furthermore I ask all supporters of this cause to pose this question to the @McDonalds DM box and see if they get any response. Any responses you do get please DM me with them as we will fight together to get McDonalds to do the right thing and fix the problem. You initially responded in a DM acknowledging "... that’s definitely annoying, especially when you’re in a hurry." Subsequent to this acknowledgement, you requested the following info from me. "could you please share your details like full name, phone number, email address, restaurant address, date and time of your visit, how you placed the order (whether through the Mobile App, Drive-thru, or In-store), where the order was picked up & we'll look into it." The only thing you were asked was to explain why it would ever be necessary for the customer to leave the pick-up window under the situation explained. This is not about outing one particular establishment or receiving coupons to compensate me for the annoying inconvenience I endured. This is simply about getting an answer to the simple question asked. Because my email and phone number are private, I did consent to calling back either your Chief Operations Officer or the Chairman of your Corporate Board of Directors if you would provide me with their phone numbers. Since my initial post many people have weighed in with similar experiences and if you desire to compensate them with freebies, I've offered to help you distribute a promo-code to those affected. First let me say that there is nothing more annoying than when using the drive-thru you order, you stop at a first window where you pay for your food, and then when you get to the pick-up window, they tell you to pull away to a certain spot and wait for someone to bring your order to you. In the case where the location is very busy and there is a complicated order to fill, I don't have an issue with being asked to pull up to a designated waiting area, but most of the time this is not the case and the franchises are conspiring to falsify their efficiency times. I'm sure you are well aware most locations have a clock that runs to either keep track of how long an order takes from placing to pick-up, or runs to keep track of just the amount of time a driver spends at the pick-up window. It's probably the latter and I think the standard is to get customers to spend less than 30 seconds at the pick-up window. The scam is that, many times they will ask the person to pull forward and wait just to be able to reset the clock and get credit for fast service when the service hasn't been completed yet. Today we drove through McDonalds on the way to an appointment and were asked to pull forward when there were no other cars in line behind us. There was no reason why we couldn't have waited at the window since no customers were behind us. My wife who doesn't like to argue pulled forward and we unnecessarily waited several minutes for our order while this location was padding its stats by deceptively recording a false service time. In conclusion, Corporate @McDonalds.
