Last week, I joined other delegates of
@Unilorintaxclub to deliver a keynote session on the Nigerian
#Tax Reform and its major misconceptions at the 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗙𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻.
𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 is a community of vibrant and volunteers individuals who are passionate about promoting media literacy, contribute to project that aid content and expand the scope of free knowledge to the wider public.
The session was aimed at promoting 𝘁𝗮𝘅 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, particularly within the context of 𝘕𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢’𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘹 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘦. A key focus was also on 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮’𝘀 role in updating content, specifically, the need to edit and replace outdated tax laws with the newly enacted ones on 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 platforms. This aligns with one of
@Unilorintaxclub core objectives, which is to ensure volunteers have a clear understanding of tax laws so they can edit accurately, responsibly, and in line with current laws.
During the session, we addressed:
📍 The Nigerian Tax Laws
📍 The aims and objectives
📍 Common misconceptions
📍 The facts and realities surrounding the reform and highlighted the importance of using accurate, up-to-date
#tax information on platforms such as 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮.

What are your thoughts on the new tax reforms, and how can platforms like 𝗪𝗶𝗸𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 help bridge information gaps?
Let’s keep the conversation going in the comments.
