The operation then moved to an illegal buy-back centre operating in the area. During the inspection, authorities identified an undocumented foreign national overseeing the unlawful operation. Compliance and law enforcement teams acted swiftly, and the establishment was shut down as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt illegal waste networks and strengthen compliance within the sector. #EnvironmentalCompliance #GPEnvironment #GrowingGautengTogether #MECEwanBotha #GGT2030

▶️🚨 HAPPENING NOW: Watch this space and stay tuned for more updates from the ground. MEC Ewan Botha is back at Blue Dam Park in Homestead Park, following concerns raised by residents about illegal occupation and environmental degradation in the area. When he last visited, MEC Botha committed to returning with a larger team and a concrete plan of action. Today, he has delivered on that commitment, with additional personnel and machinery on site to drive the clean-up effort forward. The Department of Social Development has also been brought in to profile individuals illegally occupying the land, paving the way for the necessary interventions and lawful processes to restore the area. This is part of a broader commitment to ensure that Gauteng residents live in clean, safe and dignified environments. We will continue to provide updates as work progresses. #MECEwanBotha #GrowingGautengTogether #GPEnvironment #BlueDamPark #HomesteadPark #CleanerGauteng #EnvironmentalCompliance #WasteFreeGauteng

Not as something to discard, but as something with value.” From economic growth and job creation to environmental stewardship and green innovation, the future of waste management lies in seeing opportunity where others see waste. #TBT #IWMSA50 #MECEwanBotha #GrowingGautengTogether #GPEnvironment #WasteManagement #CircularEconomy
