SO fed up of the media/people #GPbashing โฆ I acknowledge it may be difficult to get an appointment but is for the same reasons that our A&E departments are busy NOT because the GPs that are there arenโt working - quite the opposite โฆ..

GP experience this morning:
Called at 8.30am had a call back within the hour, a friendly & helpful GP dealt with my & my son's problems. 2 prescriptions ready to collect just over 1hr later๐
Grateful to have a system that works & free health care๐

Well Iโve had 3 days away with my family. Iโm not going to say โoffโ because Iโve answered several calls, emails, messages from work-not complaining, my choice. Actually Looking forward to running a #CovidVaccine clinic tomorrow. Wish #gpbashing would stop. Thatโs all I ask ๐

1st-ly: contrary to the press, px CAN book a face2face with a GP, some ask you just speak to GP 1st.
Px called today- pre-Covid would have waited 1-2 wks ->F2F.

2 years of debilitating physical symptoms to get diagnosis I did today; #CFS/#ME & #hypermobility.
I think we can do better.
Prevention, early intervention & treatment would cost the NHS & society so much less.
It would save lives, & quality of lives.

It's ok to recognise the good & the bad.
The best healthcare professionals want this too.

There are thousands of dedicated, passionate, skilled healthcare professionals in the NHS, including in mental healthcare.
Raising the realities of people's negative experiences do not take away from this fact, however difficult these are to hear.

I follow a few NHS pros on here @NHSMillion & have a sis & BIL toiling for them too. Iโm sick of #gpbashing & need to say my bit. This week Iโve had to access primary healthcare. Iโve had online, telephone & F2F provision. It has all been compassionate & perfect. #LoveYourNHS

GP's are seeing patients face to face. I've been using telephone consultations long before covid started. Seen face to face when necessary. @BorisJohnson @DailyMailUK Stop #GPbashing Stop lying to the general public. Thank you #NHSheroes for all your hard work. ๐๐

The government has seriously underfunded the NHS for many years. There aren't enough trained Dr's, the government decides on the number of training places available. We need to support all Dr's. Blame the government stop #GPbashing #protecttheNhs
