Ken-Betwa River Linking Project Launched The Indian government has started a big project to connect two rivers, the Ken River and the Betwa River, in Madhya Pradesh. This project is aimed at solving water problems in the dry Bundelkhand region, which is spread across parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. It will cost ₹45,000 crore. Why is this project important? 1.Water for Farmers: •It will provide water for farming in 11 lakh hectares of land in this dry region. •It is expected to help farmers who struggle with water shortages. 2.Electricity and Energy: •The project will also create over 100 MW of electricity using water. •It will produce 27 MW of solar energy, helping with clean power.
