In the last few days, I had extraordinary experiences at Digital Games Research Association hashtag
#DiGRA2024 at Guadalajara, Mexico.
I want to show sincere thankfulness to my co-author Haoxi Luo (CUHK) for always backing me up. We brought a project on the localisation and realism of a Chinese indie game, which was previously presented at the History of Games 2024 conference in Birmingham, UK. I also want to show congratulations on his other pre about Chinese horror game, and good luck with his upcoming PhD viva. Jet lag, time zone, PhD task, LUO, we made it!
In addition, I have enjoyed many fascinating projects from researchers of different domains, such as Blizzard severs shutdown, gender & game avatar, player’s walkthrough, game accessibility, Chinese television & video games, game lecturers’ teaching experiences…
I wish I could turn back time again so as to attend 13 sub-conferences at the same time. Thanks to the record service of the DiGRA community, I can watch the recording of the pre on tmr ✈️
It’s an unforgettable experience, and I know it’s time to focus on the new path ;)
Interesting fact: On the pre day, I wore Qipao, the traditional Chinese dress.
