Farmers in Australia struggled with emus eating their crops, so the government sent soldiers with guns to stop them! The emus dodged bullets and scattered, making them hard to defeat. In the end, the "Emu War" ended with the emus winning!

Checking the GRO records for maiden names before 1911 is very helpful. It helped trace my husband's family tree by finding his mother's birth and previous marriage!
