LCEC had a great time connecting with members this Saturday at the Island Market on Pine Island. The Community Outreach team was set up handing out fun goodies and providing members with energy tips, SmartHub help, and education on LCEC products, surgeSENSE and GenerLink. Thank you to the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce for the invite.

Generator inlet. My utility company has approved Generlink @GenerLink , a transfer switch that goes between your meter and the meter socket. Tested mine with my Cybertruck powering the house with the air conditioner, clothes dryer and range running simultaneously.

Hi, please be advised that Duke Energy does not allow the use of GenerLink meter mount transfer switches. Thanks!

Ice storm (again). Power just came back, but has been out twice so far. Heading to bed and will fire up the generator and Generlink on the morning if needed. Roads are ice. Poor dog couldn't find grass or soft snow & didn't know where to do her business. Finally just had to go...

Hydro crews are on full alert. I thank the good folks who made Generac. No more trying to start the old genny. Advantage of old age, you get stuff to lesson the work load. I started with a Generlink to avoid the cords and progressed to Generac.

We have a generlink and 6000 running watt firman generator. Always enough gas on hand to run 7 days. Its saved us multiple times.

I don't have an automatic transfer switch for the generator. But I do have this cool GenerLink that the utility company provided for free. Easy connect and disconnect. The high usage things I keep on are the well pump and the refrigerators. Stove, furnace and hot water are all propane so there's little electricity being used. Obviously lights and receptacles are powered too, including internet. Full tank of gas usually lasts 10-12, I keep 40-50 gallons of gas on hand, so I should be good for a few days.

Got a generator but my next investment would have to be a Generlink transfer switch to hook it to the service panel....beats running extension cords through the windows lol

LCEC was at Lowe’s Home Improvement today, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Representatives provided members with informative brochures and giveaways related to storm season, energy efficiency, and more. LCEC Energy Experts were on-site to answer questions about products offered by LCEC, including GenerLink and surgeSENSE. These events are just one way LCEC delivers on its core value of energizing the community by taking an active role in making our communities a better place to work and live. To learn more about ways to save energy and reduce electric bills, members can visit lcec.net. SmartHub is also available to help track billing and daily energy usage.

Unfortunately I can’t get a generlink because I have 400A service. They don’t make them that big…and even a 200A would be enough but can’t plug into my meter. Long story but I can’t get a generac due a “permit” issue lol.

I'm gonna go with the Generlink switch on my hydro meter with a 20' cord. Then no matter what generator I decide to do at least it's in the cottage safely.

One cord does the fridge for an hr then the freezer for an hr, the other runs the tv, wifi and charging phones and shit. Gonna go for a generlink and a bigger generator when I stop buying BMW parts 🤔

Hi Merlin. Thanks for your inquiry. We do permit the use of Generlink generator transfer collars on meters for residential houses in Toronto. However, you'll need to first submit an isolation request through our website at torontohydro.com/serviceconn…. Our team will then assess your requirements and assist with your request from there. Hope this helps.

This past weekend, an LCEC Energy Expert and the Member Solutions team attended the last Outdoor Island Market of the season to provide valuable information about surgeSENSE and GenerLink offered by LCEC, hurricane preparedness, energy tips, SmartHub, Co-op Connections, and more! Giveaways and brochures were available for members, as well as the opportunity for one member to win a free surgeSENSE device by entering the raffle. The event was a great opportunity to connect with members on Pine Island!

Installing a Generlink (not Generac) to connect a portable generator to the house. Designed to disconnect from the utility, it's approved by the utilities.

Looking at a 10kw generator and the 30A Generlink. Basically power my whole place without the baseboards.
