We’re pleased to share that Janice Schwartz, Executive Director of PC Project, will be speaking at #AAD2026 on Monday, March 30! She will participate in the session “Think Like an Expert in Ichthyosis,” where she’ll help dermatologists better understand how to care for patients with palmoplantar Epidermal Differentiation Disorders (pEDDs). (PC and other pEDDs are part of the broader Epidermal Differentiation Disorder (EDD) family, which is why we are included in this session.) Janice will highlight the real needs of our #RareDisease community - emphasizing early and accurate diagnosis, multidisciplinary care, and the importance of collaboration across clinicians, researchers, and patient advocacy organizations like PC Project. 📍 Attending AAD? Come join the session or reach out - we’d love to connect! #pEDDs #Dermatology #ClinicalResearch #PatientAdvocacy #Genodermatoses

Excited to share our review article:
“High‑frequency ultrasound in genodermatoses” in the Journal of Ultrasound led by Dr Farooq and Dr. Tagliati

Genodermatoses are a heterogeneous group of inherited skin diseases that may show variable expression and delayed clinical manifestations, which makes early diagnosis challenging.

High‑frequency ultrasound (HFUS) is a powerful non‑invasive imaging modality capable of visualizing the epidermis, dermis and hypodermis and detecting pathological changes not visible on clinical examination.

🔬 Key Advantages of HFUS
🧬 Early detection of inherited skin disorders
🔎 Identification of subclinical skin changes
📊 Objective monitoring of disease progression
📈 Evaluation of treatment response
🧠 Integration with dermoscopy, OCT and confocal microscopy

Proud to collaborate with an outstanding international team advancing the field of dermatologic ultrasound and generate the first review on the support of ultrasound in genodermatosis.

I’m very pleased to share our recently published case demonstrating the first reported ultrasound image ofa shagreen patch in Tuberous SclerosisComplex 🙌 Using high-frequency dermatologic ultrasound, wewere able to visualize characteristic dermal thickening and decreased echogenicity, providingnew insight into this important cutaneous sign. Thisreport reinforces how ultrasound can enhancedermatologic diagnosis and deepen our understandingof rare genodermatoses. 🧠 Why it matters:
Shagreen patch is one of the major diagnostic criteriaof Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. Until now, itscharacteristics had never been documented withultrasound. This opens new possibilities for non-invasive assessment and improved clinicalcharacterization. 📄 Read the article here: Diagnostics (2025) — Shagreen Patch in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex at High-Frequency Ultrasound
